Royal City Soda is owned by Cam Fryer and Russell Bateman, founded in 2024 right here in Guelph, Ontario. This venture was born from their other company, Royal City Brewing Est. 2013. However, Royal City Soda is more than just a spinoff; It’s its own company, with its own flavour and vision. While Cam and Russ have their roots in the brewing scene, Royal City Sodas was born from a shared passion for bold flavour, real ingredients, and building something refreshing (literally and figuratively) for our community. As brewers, Cam & Russ have always been obsessed with flavour; how to balance it, build it, and share it with people. Over the years, Royal City noticed more and more individuals looking for drinks that suited different lifestyles; something without alcohol that still felt crafted, intentional, and delicious. After experimenting with sparkling waters and sodas, using the same care and creativity we bring to Royal City Brewing, Royal City Soda was the answer! Flavour-forward, non-alcoholic beverages made with real ingredients, designed for right now, and that you can share with anyone. 

Royal City is a Local Hero worth recognizing because to them, being loyal to local means showing up. Showing up for your neighbours, your community, and the people who make this place what it is. It means celebrating local talent, supporting small businesses, and creating products that reflect the heart of where they come from. We live here. We work here. And we’re proud to put Guelph in every can. Beyond the creation of products, Royal City recognized the need to foster a community surrounding their business, so they created The Beer Hall; an expansion on their production facility. The Beer hall now serves as a nexus for customers and provides them a third space to hang out away from work and away from home. As a company with such a love for Guelph and supporting local businesses, Royal City found a partnership with Market Fresh to be an amazing opportunity for a continued reputation as a foundational part of this community.
