The Story of Market Fresh
Market Fresh opened in 2000 in the heart of downtown Guelph as a local, fresh and wholesome gourmet market designed to serve the community.
Over time they expanded to include a Gourmet to Go cafe, scratch bakery, butcher shop, deli, garden centre, giftware area and full kitchen offering catering services and hot meals.
Owners Frank and Dayle have worked full circle in the food industry. They pride themselves on building partnerships and supporting LOCAL producers and vendors. Many new products have found their start on Market Fresh’s shelves.

Their passion for food and community has always led them to create the best experiences for their customers. “Service and then some” has always been their motto and continues today. Frank and Dayle created “MF in the Community” and are proud to raise awareness and funds for so many of Guelph’s charities and non-profits. “We are proud to support the community that supports us.“

The Market Fresh team is a passionate and protein-focused group with over 20 years of combined experience. We're dedicated to sourcing, cutting, and producing our products the right way because that's what our customers deserve.
Our mission has always been to offer a friendly, curated experience at our meat counter, with an emphasis on Ontario partnerships.
We feature 100% Ontario air-chilled chicken, 100% grass finished beef from local family-farms, and locally raised pork. By choosing local, you’re not only receiving superior taste and quality, but you’re also supporting farmers in our own communities. Just a few of our favourite suppliers are located in cities like Heidelberg, Kitchener, Breslau, Toronto, Keene, Manitoulin Island and many more!
Market Fresh’s Butcher Shop is always in motion as a team of innovators and trend setters! Market Fresh has the premier Dry Aging program in Guelph. This program includes Australian Wagyu, as well as AAA Ontario Beef aged in store-made tallow.
Market Fresh has a diverse selection of Australian Wagyu Beef with many cuts available year round. In addition to this, we offer specialty butcher cuts, unique to our store. We also have an in-house artisan specialist to curate offerings such as terrine, pate, pate en-croute, and many more!
Above all else, Market Fresh is dedicated to delivering you what you want, and need. If we don’t currently have it, we will get it. We’ve got you covered!
