The Feddes family began farming in Canada in the 1950s as dairy farmers, and over the years, the farm has evolved into what it is today: a thriving flower farm, alongside commercial crops, poultry and a small Highland beef herd. Today, Joanne leads the farm’s flower production, growing dozens of varieties throughout the seasons with the help of three unheated greenhouses and several high tunnels. Most of their flowers are planted, weeded and harvested by hand, using thoughtful and ecologically minded growing practices. With a dedicated field crew, many of whom have returned to the farm for more than 20 years, La Primavera combines generations of farming knowledge with a passion for trying new varieties and techniques.
